If you are the poor soul in your office now responsible for refilling inkjet cartridges, listen up because refilling those cartridges can be a real pain if you don’t know what you are doing. Luckily, it does get easier once you have done it a few times.

Here are five great tips that will help make refilling inkjet cartridges a little bit easier for you.

1. Don’t Forget About The Ink

You want to periodically check on the printer to see if the cartridge needs to be refilled. Every now and then, test the printer to see if it is streaking. If it is, you know that the cartridge needs to be refilled.

2. Keep The Mess To A Minimum

Refilling inkjet cartridges can be a seriously messy business, so it is best to do refills at a sink. You want to avoid getting any of the ink on you because it will definitely stain your clothes, and could irritate your skin.

3. Follow The Instructions

Inkjet printer refills are not difficult, but they can be a little tricky. You want to follow the directions closely the first couple of times you do it so that you do not mess anything up. You really don’t want to make a mistake, because they are hard to recover from. You usually end up having to get another printer refill kit and starting all over again.

4. Understand The Process

Refilling inkjet cartridges is pretty simple. The process consists of transferring ink from a bottle into a sponge or bag in the printer cartridge. The ink is injected into the cartridge while pressure is added so that the cartridge won’t leak the ink out too fast or slow, causing poor printing.

5. Familiarize Yourself With The Tools

An inkjet printer refill kit has everything that you need for refilling inkjet cartridges. Printer refill kits all have a sealed bottle of ink, a needle, a syringe, a plunger, and a set of instructions. Each kit usually has enough materials for at least two refills.

With these five tips in mind, you are ready to give refilling inkjet cartridges a try. Good luck, and remember that practice makes perfect!
