Good news for pet fans on World Of Warcraft. Pets are not only cute and fun to collect, but they are also a good source of gold if you know how to work this to your advantage.
Take the White Kitten for example, you can buy White Kittens from Lil Timmy who wanders around Stormwind, for 60s each. These are limited supply items so they are quite difficult to obtain. Its worth it though, as you can sell the kittens for 100g to 250g on the alliance auction house, and up to 500g if you do cross-faction trading and sell it on the horde side.
That’s not the biggest gold-maker when it comes to pets though. There’s still the Black Tabby which is a horde only, or horde specific cat that’s only available as a drop from Dalaran Spellscribes which are found in Silverpine Forest. They are level 21 mages who spawn every 4 hours.
The drop rate for Black Tabby is quite high, so its not very hard to farm, as long as you are patient in waiting for the Spellscribe to appear. The way to do this effectively is to have at least a level 20 character so you can kill this mob easily.
The Dalaran Spellscribe re-spawns in 3 spots within the Amber Mill compound in Silverpine Forest. The first spawn point should be in the second shack to your left when you’re standing in the entrance to the compound. The second spawn point for the Dalaran Spellscribe is in the largest room of the main building that should be right in front of you. And finally, the third spawn point is inside the building which is on your far right.
This is not as boring or time-consuming as it might seem, you don’t have to sit there all day waiting for the Dalaran Spellscribe to re-spawn. All you have to do is log in every few hours to check, use a macro or type “/target dalaran” to see if he is around. If he is, just kill him and get your loot, log off then back on in 4 hours to repeat the process.
By constantly doing this, you will be able to farm at least 3 or more Black Tabbys within a week. Selling them in the horde auction house will fetch you at least 500g to 600g each, you can get much, much more than this though, if you do cross-faction trading, you can easily get 1500g to 2500g from the neutral auction house and the alliance auction house!
Black Tabby farming can be a really good gold-making opportunity taking into consideration the fact that it’s not that hard to get. It just takes some consistency and a bit of patience on your part for the constant logging in and checking of spawns.
