The Windows registry doesn’t repair itself and it generally cannot be repaired by hand. You can purchase registry cleaning software that can do this job for you, however, and it is designed to keep your computer running fast when registry problems are slowing it down.

Registry cleaners take a certain approach to cleaning your registry:

Registry Back-Up

The registry is essential to your PC. Startup programs, and settings for everything on your computer are stored there. It should be backed up before any changes are made, and many programs offer an auto-backup feature. You can also do it by hand by running regedit.exe.

Scanning The Registry

The registry is then scanned for bad links and links that are not in use anymore. Other problems that could slow your computer down are also looked for in this stage. It usually takes a minute or so.

A report on the scan is then displayed and you can choose what to repair or delete.

Registry Repair

Proper registry software will be very accurate so you don’t have to worry too much about problems if you go ahead and fix all problems. It will automatically fix them and optimize your computer.

Once the repair process is finished, your computer will be optimized and any registry problems that were bogging your computer down will be fixed. You just need a good registry cleaner to see how much more speed your computer can have.
