If you own a computer, it’s nearly certain that you will, at some point or another, get a Windows registry error. These errors may seem scary, but in reality, they’re pretty easy to fix. All you really have to do is download a Windows registry scanner and repair tool from one of many different websites devoted to registry software.

In fact, most people will do a quick search for Windows registry repair, download the first program they find, and think all of their registry issues are solved. While that program may in fact fix the problem, it might not be the best registry tool out there.

If you are a basic user of the Windows operating system then you may not know that much about Windows registry problems or how to go about fixing them properly. So, for the purposes of this article, I will discuss some of the things that you can start to do in order to make sure that you get your computer up and running not only with registry repair options, but also normal upkeep that you can do on your own to keep your computer operating at its optimum levels.

RegCure:

One of the most used cleaning programs on the market is RegCure. Regcure is a software program designed for the basic Windows user and is very simple to use to repair your system. Also like the other software, the download and preliminary scan are free for anyone. RegCure will work to fix some of the problems that you may be having with the registry without requiring you to pay for the full version. Even if you do need to buy the full version, RegCure is the cheapest of the repair software out there so you will definitely get your money’s worth on this one.

RegistryEasy:

Registry Easy, works pretty well and is easy to operate for basic computer users who may not have extensive computer programming knowledge. To get it to work, the user just downloads the software and tells it to scan and then the program takes care of everything else. This product comes with a free version, but in order to make sure that you get all of the features and repair your computer in the right way, then you will need to pay for the registered version.

System Mechanic:

System Mechanic is the big boy of registry repair tools, and it will take care of just about anything your system might have going on. System Mechanic is more than just a Windows registry repair tool: it can defrag your memory and hard drive, find ways of making your web browser work better, and do much, much more. System Mechanic’s price tag is a bit more than most straight Windows registry tools, but it comes with a 30 day trial version, so you can see exactly how powerful it is before you buy it.

Other Programs:

As in almost everything dealing with computer software and its malfunctions, there are several options you might have when deciding what you want to do to deal with any problems you encounter. For example, you might look at a few different spyware protection programs and firewalls that could help. An example of this is Spybot, which is a highly popular tool that can detect and eliminate spyware on your computer. Comodo firewall will also let you know when your computer encounters files that try to change your registry so that you can know what is going on in your computer and you can be aware of any sudden changes that may occur.

When delving into the wealth of different Windows registry repair software available, be sure to keep a few things in mind.

*Do you have to buy a licensed version to repair errors?

*Is the program going to scan for the many different problems your Windows registry may encounter?

*Does the program do more than just scan and repair (does it compact the registry, etc.)?

*Is it going to make a registry backup which can come in handy if your registry crashes?
