If you were given the great opportunity to experience the 1990’s, you know that the Flash games present at the time were nothing special. In fact, you could say that by today’s standards, they were fairly boring and basic in design. But as Flash fans are finding out, there is becoming a demand in the workforce for skilled Flash developers- and thus, universities are expanding their course offerings.

Flash Game Development And Education

Quite a few different degrees require students take some kind of interest in Macromedia Flash. Web designers use the popular platform for designing rich websites- while graphical arts students and programmers use the platform for making animations for Flash games.

For video game developers and general computer information systems students, there is more emphasis placed on the game development aspect of flash. Flash games have become the new way to relax when a spare minute or two is found. As employers and school officials are finding out, the popularity of flash games only grows with time.

There are, however, several Flash game developers who have made six-figure incomes from their flash games. It is a tough market to crack sometimes, as most users are only looking to kill a little time to cure boredom. Once the market is cracked- Flash game developers can enjoy a large success quite unlike some regular video game developers.

Higher levels of learning generally leave Flash behind. There are just simply better platforms for doing what Flash does. Java, for instance, can make impressive online Internet games. Graphics artists are also shifting towards 3D modeling- which is fast becoming a high-paying industry.

The Longevity Of Flash Games

The evolution of Flash games has been vast. We are now seeing impressive 3D games that push what Flash developers can make the platform do. It isn’t likely that Flash developers will start shifting towards 3D anytime soon, however- as Flash developers are primarily sticking to 2D applications for ease of learning and development.

The level of interactivity in Flash games is becoming quit exciting- Flash developers are now implementing technologies such as webcam usage to let users play games with their body- not their keyboard and mouse!

Equally exciting is the microphone. This device may be used to issue commands to squad members, control objects, and do a plethora of other things Flash game developers might program in their games.

Closing Comments on Flash Games

It has been a truly exciting history for Macromedia Flash. One can only hope that as Flash continues to evolve, so to does the interest educators and students have in the platform. For without the inspired Flash developers who diligently learn the language- we wouldn’t have ways to kill boredom over the Internet.
