At the same time prosperous landowner Harris voyages there to claim the body of his child, who has just been killed. We see phenomenal work by Jones, Harris, and a largely foreign cast. Not as understated as the first making, however powerful in its own way. Cast includes Richard Harris, James Earl Jones, Charles S. Dutton, and Vusi Kunene. (120 minutes, 1995)

Hoosiers: Hackman gets a last chance job coaching a very small Indiana high school basketball team in the 1950s, and faces the duel tests of bringing the team to the state final and personal redemption. This story is loosely based on an actual team from a small town in Indiana that played for the state title. Cast includes Gene Hackman, Barbara Hershey, Dennis Hopper, Sheb Wooley, Fern Parsons, Brad Boyle, Steve Hollar, Brad Long, and David Neidorf. (114 minutes, 1986)

The Little Thief: So-so personality picture of the title lass, a disassociated, amoral adolescent floating through life in postwar France. If she comes off as a girl Antoine Doinel, it’s since the original tale was cowritten by Francois Truffuut, who was allegedly preparing to film this at the time of his demise.
